Dr WinningDr. Winning graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1990.  After getting her degree, she worked with both large and small animals.  In 1993, she started her own mobile veterinary equine practice.  She has resided in Lancaster County since 1989 with her husband Dr. Richard Winning, a bovine veterinarian.

Through the years, her interest in dogs and cats grew and she made the decision to work full time as a small animal practitioner treating only dogs and cats at Patton Veterinary Hospital in York County.  She sharpened her surgical skills and expanded her knowledge of small animal medicine, becoming convinced that her focus solely on small animals was the right choice.  Her interests include surgery, preventative care, feline medicine, dentistry, and client education.

Dr. Winning states: "A big aspect of my personality is that I have a curious nature.  I am interested in learning new skills, new ways to perform tasks; learning about what other people think.  Veterinary medicine is a career that allows a person to exercise that curiosity and never stop learning.  I feel very lucky to be a part of a profession that encourages knowledge, specialized skills and compassion."

An avid horseback rider and competitor, Dr. Winning also breeds, trains, and sells sport horses.  She loves the challenge and discipline of eventing.  She has a special place in her heart for felines and has many at home to prove it.  She also likes to accompany her husband to Penn State football games.
